Position Overview - 

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking Machine Tenders to add to our Printing Department in Southgate, MI!  This role will directly participate in activities related to the set-up, maintenance and operation of the printing equipment and machinery.  A commitment to quality, safety and productivity is essential, and we welcome candidates who want to grow their careers to higher levels of responsibility and/or leadership positions.

• Preps and inspects incoming raw material prior to sending to production
• Operate roll automation equipment and press loading/offloading equipment
• Labels rolls to be identified and traced through the staging area.
• Ability to interpret production schedule to foreplan material changes
• Operate and troubleshoot roll movement automation equipment
• Work in a team oriented environment to support machine productivity
• Assist in production activities associated with machine setup, operation, cleaning, and preventative maintenance
• Update incoming machine operators to ensure smooth transition of duties at shift change.
• Adhere to Safety and Plant rules, including PPE, 5S and GMP requirements
• Always work with a sense of urgency, maximizing time efficiency without compromising safety, performance and quality of work performed
• Monitors and replenishes consumables and supplies.
• Maintains neat, clean and orderly workspace and relieves breaks.
• Performs various other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience with Microsoft AX is a plus
• 1 year or more of manufacturing experience
